    School of Foreign Languages Has a Tug-of-War Competition

    School of Foreign Languages holds a tug-of-war competition on the open space next to a tennis court at 9 a.m. on October 12th, 2014. Five freshman teams and four sophomore teams take part in this competition.

    The competition has three rounds in each of which best of three sets is used. In round one, the nine teams draw lots to decide their opponents, thus forming four groups and leaving one team. The first round witnesses the fierceness of the competition and desperateness of each team. Two freshman teams and three sophomore teams advance to the next round after the competing.  

    Round two has the same competition system as round one. And the five teams all try their utmost again to win a pass.

    Teams from Class English 1402, Class German 1301, and Class Japanese 1301 progress to the final after the second round. As the champion of last year’s competition, team of Class Japanese 1301 defeats team of Class German 1301, winning the second place. As the only freshman team in the final, team of Class English 1402 wins the championship.  

    This tug-of-war competition reveals students’ solidarity and cooperation, and enhances their communication. Hope everyone can enjoy a colorful college life!
