Today’s interviewee is Cheng He and Dong Zou.

After a brief self-introduction, Cheng He and Dong Zou tell us why they want to set up this scholarship.

After four-year studying, these graduates establish a real strong bond between the school of foreign language and themselves. As the alumni, they hope to do some practical things for the school. Xiao Chen first comes up with the idea that setting up this scholarship and others unanimously agree with him.

In the August of this year, they discuss about the specific processing this scholarship with the vice-president Zhang and department head Li. Two teachers agree with their idea and recommend them to teacher Wu who takes charge of alumni donation. After the new term begins, the scholarship plan is processing step by step.

When they are asked about the meaning of this scholarship, they believe that just as the name of the scholarship---Pay It Forward, they hope this tiny love can last forever and help more and more students.

They encourage students who receive this scholarship can voluntarily join them after they find a decent job. At the same time, He Cheng said that this scholarship is not just cash rewards, but also includes providing useful advices about studying, employment, going abroad and so on for the winners.

We note that current scholarships mostly focus on the score, Dong Zou said, however, a great scholarship should cover other factors about candidates such as the areas and family status. So the Pay It Forward scholarship now pay more attention on the students who study hard but not possess a high family status.

When asked about the source and the future of this scholarship, they said that at the beginning, each of us donate 500 yuan for the initial establishment of this scholarship. ‘We will invite more alumni to join our ranks and expand our membership, thereby we can increase the amount of the funding. We also hope that students who receive this scholarship can voluntarily join them after they find a decent job’.

Finally, two graduates share their experience to the junior students. Dong Zou choose to attend a different major from his bachelor, so he advises that since you choose this major, then try to study hard. If you're really not interested in this major, do not indulge yourself, try to choose another major you like. After that, you need to make a clear direction about the future. The college is a marvelous stage for students to find their interests. Cheng He said that at least you must be outstanding in one aspect so that you can easily have a bright future. Both graduates hope the junior students have a better development in studying and working.
